Exploring the Emotional Self
With Charlotte McFarlin
Saturday, February 23 ~
10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Thank you to all who participated in this wonderful event!
Emotions left unseen and without proper expression can create obstacles on our path of personal growth and spiritual development. Often, they hide within the body expressing themselves as physical aches and pains.
In the Exploring the Emotion Self workshop you will be introduced to a variety of simple yet effective tools appropriate for releasing past emotional responses and transforming them into openness and positivity. Together, we will explore a deep-rooted emotion through movement (yoga), meditation and journaling with the support of therapeutic-grade essential oils. Through these practices we will begin to reprogram both the mind and body, building a solid foundation for emotional transformation.
An exploration of Kundalini Yoga with Amanda Anderson
Saturday, 3/2 from 2-3:30
We hope to schedule another event soon!
Guarded for thousands of years, the ancient practices of Kundalini Yoga were brought to the West by an Indian master to help more people transform their lives. This workshop explores some of these simple yet powerful yogic practices and their effects. We'll be doing breath work, chanting, visualizations, and movement to enhance your energy, gain flexibility, and connect with your soul.
Don't miss this special chance to learn practices that you can take home and practice regularly to elevate your life! Barnard yoga teacher "Miss Amanda" is skilled at introducing these practices in a friendly, down-to-earth way accessible to all.

This workshop will provide students with an embodied experience of some of the foundations of BMC. Students will practice cellular meditation, touch, and presence and will utilize hands-on practice, movement, and visual recording to explore the qualities of the various tissue systems of the body. With a special focus on Yoga, we will apply the supportive movement qualities of the body systems to yoga postures and to assisting students with postures. Participants will also experiencing moving through the qualities of the fluid systems, the parallels between the glandular system and the Chakras, and utilizing the Autonomic Nervous system to practice mobilization and grounding for use with trauma sensitive yoga practices.
BodyMind Centering® (BMC) is a form of Somatic Movement Therapy developed by Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen, a dancer, occupational therapist, and visionary innovator. BMC integrates experiential anatomy focused on embodying the structural and energetic tissue systems of the body with developmental movement patterns. BMC is an ever-evolving approach rather than a set of techniques, with a rich tradition of experimentation and improvisation. BMC practitioners work with groups and individuals utilizing movement, touch, sound, breath, and more to support a range of needs, from developmental concerns to supporting artists and choreographers with their creative processes. BMC is taught and practiced throughout the world and shares familial roots with yoga and other non-Western forms of expression.
Kamala Burden (Jap Dharam Kaur), MA, LCMHC, LCAT, BC-DMT, RDT/BCT, CP, RSMTE, BMCP, is Registered Somatic Movement Educator/Therapist and Certified Practitioner of Body-Mind CenteringⓇ. She is an affiliate professor at Antioch University New England, Board Certified Dance/Movement

An inviting practice, Yoga Nidra can be practiced by everyone, regardless of age or physical ability. All that is required is to lie down and listen. It is a systematic method of complete relaxation and peace, not only for the physical body, but also for the deeper emotional and mental systems, penetrating to the roots of stress and allowing the release of subconscious tensions and tendencies that inhibit us from living fully. Divine Sleep Yoga Nidra brings us to a place of deep calm, quiet and clarity.
